The Riverdale Community Garden at St. Peter’s Church is expanding and needs volunteers who can help heft and dig for a couple of hours on Saturday morning, May 17th, beginning at 9:00 am.

The benevolent community garden has provided produce for local shelters, and supports the St. Peter’s Muffin Ministry with produce, and through the sale of produce and preserves to members of the congregation.
Over the summer and into the fall we will also require volunteers for planting, watering, harvesting, making deliveries, making preserves or baking muffins. If you are interested in helping please contact Ted Djaferis djaferist@gmail.com

Much appreciated. Thank you.
I was up at the garden this morning building two additional 4×8 boxes, doubling the size of the community garden. Depending on the weather, Saturday, May 17 at 9 AM we will be installing and preparing the soil in the boxes. We also plan to work on the walkways around the garden boxes.
I have also been in conversation with Barbara MacDougall from the city in charge of community gardens, regarding expanding the current garden onto city property in the future. All of this of course is dependent on volunteers. Happy gardening,
Ted
