Creek Stories

Join us for our September Kingsmount-Bell Park heritage walk as we remember the people, places and events that helped shape our neighbourhoods. This Sunday afternoon we will explore the Kingsmount section of Junction Creek.

Prior to the arrival of European settlers Junction Creek (Nibi Nikwejiwong) was an important “water highway” for area First Nations people. For the new arrivals at Sudbury Junction, the creek was used to drive logs to mills, and water livestock and crops. Often, the creek was misused and abused.

Recently, the decades-long recovery process is becoming another Greater Sudbury environmental success story. Join us for this and more creek stories on Sunday’s heritage walk. Please register below.
